Have you ever imagined that your love of social media could propel you into a career at Channel 4, working as part of their creative team to build its world class social media presence?

Just think! All that time you spend on creating videos, sharing memes and engaging with the world through TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram or YouTube could lead you to a future career in the world of TV and content creation.

‘Content Creatives’ could well be the first step in an exciting new career…

‘Content Creatives’ is a new creative talent development programme launched by social enterprise SharpFutures with the support of Channel 4 and their Leeds based digital content production team 4Studio.

The aim and vision of the programme is to inspire and encourage a new generation of digital content makers in Yorkshire by offering six paid placements for trainee content makers to acquire and hone their skills and editorial voice.

This scheme aims to offer opportunities to those currently underrepresented in the TV industry, so we are particularly keen to hear from disabled people, ethnically diverse people and people from lower socio-economic groups.

The 12-week programme is for individuals aged 18-24 years old living in Yorkshire, as part of Channel 4’s commitment to developing talent in the Nations and Regions.

The first 6 weeks of the programme from Monday 26th July 2021 will include masterclasses in digital storytelling, production techniques, ideas generation, pitching skills and delivering to a creative brief, using well known Channel 4 shows such as Derry Girls, The Inbetweeners and Hollyoaks. These will be led by a team of experts in each respective subject and there will be supplementary online learning in recognised industry software such as Adobe Premiere Pro. From Monday 6th September 2021 the last 6 weeks will be spent working directly with the team at 4Studio in Leeds.

The programme will be delivered remotely online and when possible, in person subject to COVID guidelines. The course will run Monday to Friday during office hours.

It couldn’t be simpler to apply, and the successful applicants will be provided with the technology and software needed for the duration of the 12 week programme.

If you’re interested in developing your skills, experience and opportunities with 4Studio, Channel 4 and SharpFutures then apply today by clicking here.

Please note you must be between 18-24 years old (on Monday 7th June 2021) and live within the Yorkshire region to apply for this course.

The deadline for applications is Monday 7th June 2021 at 14:00.

This programme is run by SharpFutures and delivered in partnership with Channel 4.
