  • Are you a social media maven or a spreadsheet whiz?
  • Do you have great ideas but aren’t sure what to do with them?
  • Have you always wanted to work in the creative digital or tech industries?

Here at SharpFutures, we know that it can be difficult for women to access creative and digital careers, and that it can be even harder if you’re from a BAME background, or have responsibilities within the home.

This is why we are excited to launch the DIGITAL:Shine digital skills course, which aims to support women in Greater Manchester in entering and excelling within the creative and digital industries.

DIGITAL:Shine is a 6-week course where the program is as unique as you are. Participants will be able to personalise what they learn, choosing from pathways like entrepreneurship, content creation, social media and business administration.

There will be a wide variety of online masterclasses delivered by industry professionals covering all aspects of digital marketing, copy writing, brand building, social media and much more.

Lee Stanley, CEO of SharpFutures

By the end of the course you’ll have produced your own digital portfolio, which can be used to highlight your skills and talents to potential employers. You’re even guaranteed a job interview with SharpFutures People On Demand (POD), the go-to place for creative companies needing talented digital support.

“The pandemic has challenged what people are looking for in their careers and by providing these new skills and training, we hope we can help the participants increase their opportunities for employment in the creative and digital industries across Greater Manchester”

SharpFutures strives to make DIGITAL:Shine as accessible as possible. The course will mainly be delivered remotely, so you can study around your other responsibilities.

To apply for DIGITAL:Shine we ask that you:

  • Are aged 16+, unemployed or at risk of redundancy
  • Live in Greater Manchester
  • Have access to a laptop & internet connection
  • Are able to commit to a six week course starting on November 8th 2021
  • Are able to travel to The Sharp Project located at M40 5BJ for part of the course delivery (2 full days TBC)

DIGITAL:Shine is supported by Education Skills & Funding Agency, the European Social Fund, WEA and GMCA.
