This new creative talent development programme will be delivered with the support of Channel 4 and their Leeds based digital content production team 4Studio.

The 12-week programme is for individuals aged 18-24 years old living in Yorkshire, as part of Channel 4’s commitment to developing talent in the Nations and Regions.

SharpFutures are working with Job Centre Plus and DWP work coaches in the region to reach as diverse an audience as possible and are specifically looking for people that may not have considered applying for such a course before. Lee Stanley, CEO of SharpFutures says “We are looking for a group of creators keen to become a future influencers working as part of a major creative team. We are all, to different degrees, becoming content creators sharing memes and engaging with the world through TikTokSnapchatInstagram or YouTube.  If you love this style of creativity and would like to turn it into a future career option we’d love to hear from you.”

4Studio Digital Content Director Janine Smith said“I’m incredibly excited to bring opportunities to young creatives in the North. Being able to work directly with these young people will benefit 4Studio just as much as it will the participants. We firmly believe that creative talent can come from anywhere – no matter your background, qualifications or who your parents know.”

Ewan Vinnicombe-Wallis is SharpFutures’ ‘Content Creatives’ Project Director and has worked closely with 4Studio to develop the course.  He brings a wealth of industry experience to “Content Creatives” having worked extensively at the BBC and across the independent sector.

Ewan says: “Encouraging new and diverse talent into the dynamic world of TV and then becoming a mentor has always been a passion of mine.  I am looking forward to working with the 4Studios team to secure the participation of inspirational industry experts who will host masterclasses and inspire our six candidates as they progress through this journey of opportunity.”

The first 6 weeks of the programme from Monday 26th July 2021 will include masterclasses in digital storytelling, production techniques, ideas generation, pitching skills and delivering to a creative brief, using well known Channel 4 shows such as Derry Girls, The Inbetweeners and Hollyoaks. From Monday 6th September 2021 the last 6 weeks will be spent working directly with the team at 4Studio in Leeds.
