This scheme aims to offer opportunities to those currently underrepresented in the TV industry, so we are particularly keen to hear from disabled people, ethnically diverse people and people from lower socio-economic groups.

Yes. The course application is open to residents of the Yorkshire region aged between 18 and 24 on Monday 7th June 2021.

The course is for 12 weeks in total and starts on Monday 26th July 2021. Should your application reach the next stage of the process you will be required to have an interview.

The interviews will take place online between Thursday 10th June and Friday 18th June 2021.

By Monday 28th June you will hear from us if you have successfully gained a place on the course. This will give you 4 weeks before the start date of the course in which you can inform your employer if needed.

If you have successfully gained a place on the course, you will be given a wage. The wage would be the real living wage which at the time is £9.50 per hour for 35 hours per week.

Unfortunately, this course is only available to residents within the Yorkshire region. The Yorkshire region includes North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.

For the duration of the course (12 weeks) you will be loaned a Channel 4 compatible laptop so that you can access software, programmes and content during the SharpFutures training and your 4Studio work placement. Some limited funds will be available to improve your internet/WIFI connectivity if required. All technology will be required to be returned at the end of the course.

The course is a paid for full time placement that will take place between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday so you would need to be available at those times. So if you are working full time you would not be able to take part.

The course is not open for those in full time education during the time of the course and 4Studio placement (Monday 26th July – Friday 15th October 2021).

You can take part in the course but as it is a paid placement you will be ‘employed’ by SharpFutures for the duration. You will need to check with your current employer how this might affect you.

You do NOT need specific experience to take part in the course but knowledge of social media content, channels, streaming services (YouTube) and an interest in Channel 4 content would be a plus in your application.

Your application must reach us by Monday 7th June 2021 at 14:00.

Please call SharpFutures on 0161 282 8380 or email with your query and we will try to help.
